Sallaghari area tense following road accident
A woman died after a bus heading to Kathmandu from Banepa knocked the scooter she was riding at Sallaghari of Bhaktapur district on Tuesday.

Bindu Rai, 37, of Jhapa district, who was temporarily living in Kaushaltar of Bhaktapur, died after the over speeding bus (Ba 1 Kha 9281) knocked her scooter (Ba 57 7779) parked on the roadside in front of the Metropolitan Traffic Police Circle, Sallaghari, along the Araniko Highway.
Locals in Sallaghari area vandalised and set the bus on fire, claiming the accident occurred due to the negligence of the driver. Police and locals clashed after the police baton charged on the demonstrators to clear the road and took the body for postmortem.
Some locals sustained minor injuries during the clash. The agitated locals prevented police from removing the body for 45 minutes. The accident occurred at 11 am.
Police doused the fire and took the bus to the Police Station at Bhaktapur.
