Police confirmed the death of four individuals, including a contractor, when the four-storey building collapsed while being demolished.

The deceased have been identified as Pot Bahadur Pandey and Ganesh Kumar Bika of Nuwakot district, Bishnu Bhandari of Dhading and Bhupal Magar of Khotang.

Magar succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Vayodha Hospital in Balkhu.

The contractor and the workers were buried while they were eating lunch in the ground floor when the old building collapsed.

Mangal Bahadur Bhujel of Morang, Jeevan Magar of Khotang, Rajan Tamang of Dhading, Man Bahadur Tamang and Masina Bika of Nuwakot district have sustained injuries in the building collapse.

Masina Bika is wife of the deceased Ganesh Bika. The injured are undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital.
