The family of the deceased staged demonstration outside the hospital claiming that Bhandari died due to negligence of the doctors. Bishnu Bhandari, kin of the deceased, accused that the doctors tried to cover up their mistake by giving separate statements on her death.

Hospital’s director Dr. PK Chakraworti, however, claimed that there was no negligence on part of the hospital. Bhandari underwent first operation at 10 am on Monday. She underwent second surgery the same day at 10 pm. Bhandari was declared dead by the hospital moments after her second surgery.

“A committee has been formed to investigate the incident,” said Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Raut following the talks held between the hospital management and the victim’s family at the District Administration Office in Kaski.
