CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the party will not join the government without its respectable participation.
He said the party will only join the government if Nepali Congress forges consensus with understanding on the agreed points.
Speaking at a press meet organised by Press Chautari in Kaski on Wednesday, Nepal said no one should ignore deals that have been inked.
However, Nepal clarified that the party will not create hindrances in the constitution drafting process despite being an opposition party.
"UML will move ahead prioritising constitution drafting," Nepal said.
Responding to the queries of reporters on whether to participate in the government sans Home portfolio, Nepal said the NC should abide by agreements and commitments.
Also on the occasion, leader Nepal said portfolios including Ministry of Home Affairs, Defense, and finance should be allocated to the UML.
Nepal maintains that the signing of a seven-point deal between the two parties on Sunday was predicated on NC leaders agreeing to allocate the home portfolio to the UML.
