A fire that broke out on the upper floor of Hotel Woodland in Durbar Marg on Thursday morning has been brought under control.
Hotel operators said the fire started at around 9am. Eyewitnesses said the blaze was confined to the hotel’s upper floor.
Police suspect an electrical short circuit may have caused the fire. Deputy Superintendent of Police Kaushal Budhathoki of Kathmandu Police Range said fire engines from Kathmandu and Lalitpur metropolitan cities were deployed to control the blaze.
Personnel from the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force were also mobilised. No injuries have been reported.
