Salyan

Two people died and 14 others were injured, four of them seriously, in a bus accident in Salyan district on Saturday.

The bus heading to Jayachaur in Chhatreswari Rural Municipality-4 skidded off the road and fell 55 metres down at Kapurkot Rural Municipality-3, police said.

A 31-year-old woman from Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City-6 of Dang and a 40-year-old woman from Triveni Rural Municipality-3 of Salyan died on the spot, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Nabin Karki.

Police and locals rescued the injured and sent them to Tulsipur Provincial Hospital.

Karki said the bus with 21 people on board fell down the road after the road caved in while giving way to another vehicle.
