Bodies of seven persons missing in a landslide at Barekot Rural Municipality-4 of Jajarkot district have been found. Twelve persons had gone missing when a landslide buried two houses at Sarki Gaun of the district on Friday night.
Barekot Chairperson Mahendra Bahadur Sah said the bodies were found some 10 metres from the incident site.
A team of locals and police personnel is still searching for five persons missing in the landslide. Sah said rescue works have been hampered by continuous rainfall. Police are also searching for two other persons swept away by a stream at Dhum in the district.
Jajarkot DSP Kishor Kumar Shrestha said another rescue team dispatched from the district headquarters has not been able to reach the site due to adverse weather conditions.
According to Sah, Jiri, Maina, Gothgau in Barekot-4 and Kalakholi, Bhailokhana, Tolkhan and Karuka in Barekot-5 are at high risk of landslides.
The incident site is some 90 kilometres from the district headquarters of Khalanga.
