Nepal reports 355 new Covid-19 cases, three deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,601 and the number of active cases stands at 5,094.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 355 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 829,632.
Similarly, 38 people tested positive in a total of 1,535 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 4,887,818 PCR and 835,952 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,794 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported three Covid-19-related fatalities.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,601. The number of active cases stands at 5,094.
According to the ministry, 812,937 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 263 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 222 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 156 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 45 in Lalitpur and 21 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 20 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 13 in Province 2, 253 in Bagmati, 29 in Gandaki, 19 in Lumbini, five in Karnali and 15 in Sudurpaschim.
On Tuesday, 889 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 25—two in Province 1, 22 in Bagmati and one in Lumbini—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 291 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 213 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Sunday and 342 new coronavirus infections were reported on Saturday.
