Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 2,771 with four more deaths

Nepal on Friday reported four more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 2,771. The country also recorded 112 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 273,984 with 936 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 270,277 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 54 of them in the past 24 hours.
As of Friday, 2,157,580 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 3,944 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the ministry had confirmed 700 Covid-19 deaths that were not included in the ministry’s official count. The patients had died at their homes before November last year, according to the ministry’s spokesperson. Besides the unreported deaths, the ministry had also reported two deaths and 206 infections.
Four Covid-19 fatalities and 110 new infections were reported on Tuesday.
