Two people died in an accident when a passenger bus hit pedestrians in Gaindakot municipality-10, Bhaisakhori of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East)district, on Friday.

The bus en route to Kawasoti struck seven-year-old Bishal Shrestha of Gaindakot-11 and his maternal grandmother Shreemaya Manandhar, 55, of Syangja.

Bishal died on the spot while his grandmother, who was seriously injured in the accident, breathed her last while undergoing treatment at Old Medical College, Bharatpur of Chitwan district, police said.

Police have impounded the vehicle and arrested the driver.
