Three dead as passenger bus and truck collide head-on in Gaidakot

At least three people were killed and 27 others injured after a passenger bus and a truck collided at Thumsi, Gaindakot along the Mahendra Highway on Tuesday.
According to the police, the passenger bus en route to Mahendranagar from Kakkadvitta collided head-on with a truck near an under-construction diversion at Smriti Bridge this morning.
The Area Police Office, Gaindakot informed three people, who were seriously injured in the accident, died while undergoing treatment at various hospitals.
“A 70-year-old resident of Bansbari municipality, Bardiya died while receiving treatment at Bharatpur Government Hospital while two others, residents of Kanchanpur, succumbed to their injuries at Chitwan-based New Medical College,” DSP Dilip Giri told the Post.
“Twenty-seven others including the drivers of both the vehicles have been injured in the incident,” said Giri, “Three of the injured are in serious condition.”
