Nepali music producer Aasis Beats became the first Nepali to reach number 1 on Billboard after topping the UK Hip Hop/R&B charts with British rapper Central Cee’s song ‘Band4Band’.

The platinum music producer was awarded the official plaque by Billboard, an American music and entertainment weekly magazine, for co-producing the song, which also features American rapper Lil Baby alongside producers Geenaro and Ghana Beats.

This also makes Aasis only the second Nepali to have entered the Global 200 and Hot 100 charts, as the song climbed to the twelfth and 18th spots, respectively.

Previously, Nepali lo-fi producer Sagun achieved the feat after his co-produced record ‘Phone by My Ear’ reached the 99th spot on Global 200 and 64th on Hot 100.

Aasis is also the only Nepali producer with a platinum record, which he achieved for the song ‘Satellites’ by Nicky Bondz and a feature on New York’s Times Square.
