Nepte, which features actor Dayahang Rai in the role of an antagonist (for the first time in his career), is a comedy film that touches upon social issues, according to Rohit Rumba, the film’s producer/actor. “Nepte is a mixture of comedy and all-around fun,” Rumba said during a press meet last month. Directed by Dev Kumar Shrestha, Nepte stars actors Rai, Rumba, Buddhi Tamang, Arjun Gurung, Chhulthim Gurung, Purnima Lama, and Pranisha Silwal in lead roles.
On the other hand, Lily Bily, is director Milan Chams’ second directorial venture in two months, following Blind Rocks, a biopic about the visually-impaired activist Shristi KC, which featured actress Benisha Hamal in the lead role. Lily Bily, shot around the UK, is a romantic comedy which features an onscreen romance between Pradeep Khadka (of the Prem Geet fame), and Jasita Gurung. Lily Bily also features actors Priyanka Karki, Anoop Bikram Shahi, Ritesh Chams and Sabina Shrestha, among others. “Lily Bily is a movie with a wholesome entertainment package,” said the film’s producer, Govinda Shahi. While the two films enter the box office race today, Shatru Gate, which will be running for the fourth week since its release, is still occupying a hefty portion of multiplex shows.
