Chakka Panja takes homes eight awards
Chakka Panja won awards in eight different categories at the Kamana Film award, including the Best Movie Award.Chakka Panja won awards in eight different categories at the Kamana Film award, including the Best Movie Award. The award ceremony was held on Tuesday at the Army Officers’ Club in the Capital. The film bagged awards under categories such as Best Debutant Director (Deepashree Niraula), Best Actor in a Negative Role (Deepak Raj Giri), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Jeetu Nepal), Best Actor in a Comic Role (Kedar Sharma), and Best Cinematographer (Kabiraj Gahatraj).
Along with these, Deepak Raj Giri, Jeetu Nepal, and Kedar Ghimire shared the award for the best dialogue and Krishna Kafle won the best playback singer for the same movie.
Bipin Karki was awarded the Best Protagonist for his role in Jaatra and Pradip Bhattrai won the best screenplay award for the same movie. The Best Actress award went to Srijana Subba for her role in Dying Candle. Furthermore, Harihar Sharma, Sakuntala Sharma, and Manju Kumar Shrestha were awarded with Lifetime Achievement Award.
The films were judged by a panel of jury comprising Laxmi Narayan Shrestha, musician Kiran Pradhan, and theatre artists Ashesh Malla, Karun Thapa, and Harihar Sharma.
The award show was punctuated by musical performances by veteran singer Prem Dhwoj Pradhan, Tara Thapa, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Ram Krishna Dhakal, among others.
