Buddhisagar, known for his simple, yet distinct Nepali prose, soared to popularity with his debut work of fiction, Karnali Blues, published in 2010. The novel, set in the mid-western Nepal, chronicles the story of a struggling family told through the eyes of a teenage boy.
The launch ceremony started off with singer Kali Prasad Baskota’s rendition of the song created to promote the book.
Speaking during the event, author Buddhisagar said: “I was overwhelmed with the love the readers bestowed upon me after Karnali Blues came out. I felt a little presssurised. After Karnali Blues I was writing another novel but I dropped it because I didn’t quite like it. But it, nonetheless, helped me hone my craft. Hence, I would say, Firfire is the third novel I have written. Ihope the readers will like it.”
The book has been published by Fineprint Books.
