CDO ko 17 Barsha released
Nepali author Narendra Raj Poudel launched his new book titled CDO ko 17 Barsha at Royal Events Banquet, Tinkune, on Thursday.
The book consists of the writer’s remembrances of events that took place from 1975 to 2007.
Chief Justice of Nepal Khil Raj Regmi, Kharindra Prasad Luitel, and Rajiv Joshi of We Read Publications were the chief guests during the event.
The programme commenced with a speech by the writer himself. Through his talk, he provided an insight on what had inspired him to pen the book.
“I don’t think I have done something remarkable by writing this book. Every day there is an author creating a new story,” he said. Sharing his experience of working as a Chief District Officer (CDO) he said, “I observed that as Nepal plunged into a state of political instability, an agricultural country ended up being a country that had to depend on foreign remittance to stabilise its economy.”
Kharindra P Luitel complimented the writer for the simple and understandable language the book is written in. He also congratulated Poudel for writing a “detailed and enjoyable” account of his life experiences and declared the book “a must-read”.
Khil Raj Regmi then took to the podium to praise the author and the publication for bringing forth a book that captures the reader’s attention through its meticulous description of different events and their settings.
Furthermore, he applauded Kathalaya for releasing Nepal’s first e-book reader application called We Read, which features books by Nepali writers and publishers.
