EVERYDAY AI: Prashanna Bajracharya
Bajracharya is a filmmaker, creative director and photographer. He is also the co-founder of untitled.np, a film production company.AI for smarter workflow
As a filmmaker and creative director, I’ve always believed that storytelling is at the core of everything we do. But the process behind that storytelling planning, execution, and delivery has traditionally been slow, expensive, and sometimes limiting. Integrating AI with my workflow came with hesitations. But once I started experimenting, I realised AI doesn’t replace creativity; it removes friction.
It gives me more time to focus on ideas rather than getting stuck in repetitive tasks. From my experience, AI has become less of a tool and more of a collaborator. It handles the technical weight so I can focus on the emotional and creative side of filmmaking.
Pre-production made faster and smarter
Pre-production used to take up most of my time: script breakdowns, shot lists, storyboards, and planning logistics. With AI tools like StoryBoarder and Midjourney, I can now generate structured shot lists and visual references in a matter of hours. It helps me walk into a shoot fully prepared, even on tight deadlines.
Smarter shooting and on-set decisions
On set, things rarely go exactly as planned. For understanding lighting setups, I prefer using Stable Diffusion. Similarly, using AI to plan camera angles or adjust them based on location constraints has proven efficient in my workflow. This is especially useful when working under pressure, where quick decisions can make or break a shot.
Faster and more efficient editing
Post-production is where a lot of time gets consumed. AI has significantly sped up my editing process by auto-sorting footage, suggesting rough cuts, syncing with music, and even assisting in colour grading.
Instead of spending hours organising clips, I can focus more on storytelling and pacing the decisions that actually require a director's eye. These tools are namely, Runway for video editing and Higgsfield for VFX.
Content strategy and audience reach
As a creative director, creating content is only half the job; the other half is making sure it reaches the right audience. AI helps me understand trends, optimise content for platforms, and make better decisions about what to publish and when. This is crucial in today’s fast-moving digital space, especially when working across multiple platforms simultaneously.
