Drama and poetry for awareness
Team Ripple, under the British Council, raised awareness on the gendered impacts of climate change.
Post Report
Team Ripple, a grantee of the British Council and the Association of Youth Organisations Nepal (AYON) under the Youth for Climate and Social Action (YCSA) Initiative, conducted a two-day awareness campaign from March 22 to 23.
Through street drama and poetry performances at five locations across Kathmandu and Lalitpur, the initiative highlighted the unequal impacts of climate change across genders.
The team led by Dilasha Nepal, with team members Shreya Singh, Gopal Gupta, Pratima Baral, and Santosh Sunuwar, Ripple used creative storytelling to engage communities and shed light on how climate change disproportionately affects marginalised genders due to unequal access to resources, socio-economic vulnerabilities, and cultural norms.
Nepal says, “It was an immense pleasure to see people making time to watch our programme despite their busy schedules. I hope similar opportunities will cross our paths in the upcoming days.”
