My Podcast Picks: Dr Sagun Ballav Pant
Dr Pant is an assistant professor in Psychiatry at the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University. He is also a PhD research scholar at the University of Oslo, Norway.Podcasts I follow:
The Hilarious World of Depression
In The Hilarious World of Depression, host John Moe destigmatises conversations around mental illnesses. The show, launched in 2016, features interviews with comedians who have struggled with depression and other mental health issues, putting them at dis-ease.
What I admire the most about this podcast is that it uses humour to talk about the serious subject of mental health. It's a podcast that I think many will enjoy.
Recovery Elevator
Hosted by Paul Churchill, Recovery Elevator covers issues including the science of addiction, coping strategies, and various methods of rehabilitation through conversations with specialists in the field of addiction and mental health. I like this podcast because I work very closely with people who consume alcohol and drugs, and I learn a lot through its episodes.
Anyone on the path to recovery or interested in the field should definitely listen to it.
Radio Headspace
A Headspace Studios production, Radio Headspace focuses on sleep, meditation, guided reflections and mindfulness. It offers a selection of tools and methods for cultivating mindfulness practices and lowering stress and anxiety—all backed by research. An animated series by the studio is also available on YouTube.
I recommend this podcast to my patients frequently.
