Community Homestay Network, a travel company, is organising the 5th edition of Ranjana Lipi and Aila Event.

The company has been organising the event every month where participants are welcomed with a sagun of aila (Newar alcoholic drink). Attendees get to learn the basics of Ranjana Lipi using traditional bamboo tools. Buddhi Lal Maharjan and Gyan Bahadur Maharjan, experts in Ranjana Lipi, teach the script.

"The first few sessions weren't well organised. But over the months, we've finetuned it and made many improvements," Nilu Thapa Magar, travel expert at Community Homestay Network.

Each session takes only 10 to 15 participants. Apart from getting to learn the basics of Ranjana Lipi, the organisers also serve Newar lunch to the participants. After completion of the session, participants are requested to write a sentence of their wish in Ranjana Lipi, which the organisers frame and give as a souvenir.

The event's fee is Rs 1,800 per person, and it covers the workshop, lunch, and a souvenir.
