Police on Friday made public suspects in connection with the murder of businessman Lal Mohammed Ansari in Kathmandu on September 19.
Three people have been arrested for the murder of the businessman, said police.
Twenty-one-year-old Mohammad Maharam Miya and a 15-year-old boy from Birgunj Metropolitan City, and Sunita Syangtan from Bakaiya Rural Municipality in Makawanpur district have been arrested in connection with the murder case.
According to police, Miya had supplied the weapon used in the crime and was arrested from Birgunj on Friday while Syangtan has been accused of keeping tabs on the victim prior to the incident.
Ansari, a resident of Godaita Municipality in Sarlahi district, was shot dead outside his garment factory in Gothatar. Two individuals, who came on a motorcycle, had opened fire on him.
The 57-year-old had sustained bullet injuries to his head, chest and abdomen. Following the incident, Ansari was rushed to Shankharapur Hospital for treatment. However, the hospital referred him to Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The deceased was earlier convicted of running a counterfeit currency racket and homicide. He had served a jail term of eight years and seven months from July 25, 2007.
