The 18th Republic Day was marked with a special ceremony at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel in Kathmandu, on Thursday. The event commemorated the historic achievement of the Nepali people in abolishing the monarchy and establishing a republic.

President Ramchandra Paudel, Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly chair Narayan Prasad Dahal, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, and other senior leaders and officials attended the celebration.

The ceremony featured cultural displays and military parades to honour the democratic gains made in the 2006 People’s Movement.
