UML organises Youth Celebration in Kathmandu to mark Loktantra Diwas
Thousands of youths gather at Bhrikutimandap as ruling party celebrates the end of monarchy and establishment of the republic system.

To commemorate Loktantra Diwas, the ruling CPN-UML hosted a Youth Celebration at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu on Thursday. The event was held to mark the historic victory of the people’s power over absolute monarchy and to honour the democratic gains achieved through the People’s Movement of 2006.

Kshitiz Thebe, chair of the UML youth wing Youth Federation Nepal, stated the festival was aimed at conveying a message of hope and opportunity for youth within the country, highlighting domestic employment and prosperity as key themes.

The event activities included musical performances, cultural dances, coffee and food stalls, and exhibitions of youth-produced goods, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
Prime Minister and UML chair KP Sharma Oli, Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s deputy mayor Sunita Dangol, among many UML leaders, addressed the programme.
