A total of six people went missing in Panchthar district after they were swept away by a flooded Hewa river in Phidim and Phalelung of the district on Saturday night.

The flooded river washed away two motorable bridges in Lumangdin and Ghumane of Phalelung Rural Municipality and a suspension bridge over the river.

Locals and security personnel are carrying out search and rescue operations.
