Lalitpur District Administration Office announced a curfew within the ring road from 4am to 10pm on Friday, after locals clashed with police during the Machhindranath chariot festival in Pulchowk on Thursday.

Despite prohibitory measures in place in view of the rising number of coronavirus cases in Kathmandu Valley, Laltipur locals on Thursday had attempted to pull the chariot of Machhindranath, resulting in a clash between them and police.

The curfew has been imposed to prevent any untoward incident.
