The entire country has gone on a lockdown for a week from Tuesday morning.
A meeting of the high-level committee for the prevention and control of Covid-19, led by Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokhrel, took the decision on Monday evening, hours after a second coronavirus case was confirmed.
On the first day of lockdown, marketplaces and roads wear a deserted look.
Following the World Health Organization’s suggestions, mass movement of people and vehicles have been banned as precautionary measures against the spread of Covid-19.
