Ishori Poudel has been appointed as new Chief and Executive Officer (CEO) at the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).

Rudra Singh Tamang, the former KMC chief has been transferred to the Municipalities and Environment Management Division at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MFALD) on Tuesday.

Tamang was appointed as CEO at KMC in May 25, 2015.

The present appointed CEO Poudel used to work for the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority before being transferred to the Ministry.

Meanwhile, Tamang has experience of working joint-secretary under the Ministry of Commerce and Supply Management before he joined the metropolis. He was a journalist prior to he joined the civil service. He was appointed as CEO of metropolis after Purna Bhakta Tandukar was terminated from the position, citing his failure to assume his responsibilities effectively during the time of national crises following the devastating Gorkha earthquake.
