Police arrest 53 in online gambling bust in Lalitpur

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police raided a call centre in Satdobato, Lalitpur, arresting 53 individuals, including two Indian nationals, on charges of running an online gambling operation.
According to CIB spokesperson Superintendent of Police Hobindra Bogati, the suspects were involved in operating an “online casino.” Authorities seized 85 laptops and 82 mobile phones during the raid.
The suspects face further investigation, with police planning to seek court approval today to extend their custody. They were reportedly engaged in online gambling and other illegal activities.
