The meeting of the Tribhuvan University Executive Council held at the Prime Minister’s office in Baluwatar appointed Agrawal as the IOM's dean.
TUTH senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC has been protesting the appointment of Dr KP Singh to the post by breaching seniority criteria. He had firm stand that Prof. Dr Jagadish Prasad Agrawal should be appointed the IoM dean.
Sources say that Agrawal was nominated as the IOM Dean following Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal directed Education Minister Dhaniram Poudel and TU Vice-chancellor Tirtha Raj Khaniya to appoint a dean as per Doctor KC’s demand.
Today is the 21st day of the 10th hunger strike of Dr KC seeking reforms in the medical education and health sector.
