Naya Shakti Nepal staged a symbolic protest in the Capital on Sunday against corruption, black marketeering and demanding relief and reconstruction works to be carried out in a faster pace.
The two hour long protest was held at Bhadrakali, Kathmandufrom 10 am today and was led by Nayashakti Nepal coordinator Baburam Bhattarai.
During the protest, Nayashakti Nepal supporters chanted slogans like ‘Maintain national unity’, ‘End black marketeering’, ‘Provide relief materials to the earthquake victims right away’, End Violence Against Women’, among others.
The protesters were seen holding placards with different slogans imprinted on them.
Baburam Bhattarai addressed the protest program saying that the Madhes issue is a national issue and not just Madhes’ problem. He added that the country needs to address the Madhes issues before the situation of another protest arises in Madhes.
