The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) on Tuesday said six ministries have failed to effectively attend to the complaints that people lodge at Hello Sarkar desk.
The ministries to address less than 50 percent of the complaints are: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development, Ministry of Defence, and Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.
Other government agencies to address less than 50 percent of the complaints are Higher Secondary Education Board, Secretariat of the National Planning Commission, and Public Procurement Monitoring Office.
OPMCM Secretary Shreedhar Sapkota said the concerned ministries and offices have been directed to make time to attend to the public grievances.
Hello Sarkar desk was set up at the OPMCM in 2011 at the initiative of the then Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai for the public to report complaints concerning government agencies. Since its establishment, Hello Sarkar has received 40,794 complaints.
