Chairman of the Constituent Assembly Subas Nembang has said the country would get the new constitution within a week.

Talking to journalists after the CA meeting on Thursday evening, Chairman Nembang informed that after the completion of clause-wise discussion on the revised bill of the constitution, top political leaders would address the CA meeting which would be followed by the proposal on the approval of the revised bill of the constitution.

A total of 54 proposals on amendment of the revised bill were tabled in the CA meeting. The proposals will not be withdrawn, but verbal voting would decide whether to pass these.

In a question relating to the demand of the postponement of the CA process to bring the disgruntling parties on board, CA Chairman Nembang said, "I'm not aware of it. I'm devoted to my work. Within coming Sunday, the date to promulgate constitution will be fixed."

According to him, the CA will meet on Saturday too.

For the verbal voting, it would take two days. Similarly, the CA Secretariat would take one day to make technical arrangement, then begins the voting on passage of every article of the constitution bill.

If the CA does not witness any obstruction, the passage of the articles of the constitution bill will be over in two days.

Meanwhile, CPN-UML's leader Surendra Pande, while exiting from the CA hall after the meeting, reiterated that the country would get the new constitution within Bhadra (a week).

Similarly, NC CA member Mahendra Yadav said although the constitution bill has incorporated almost all agenda of republic and change, it was not clear what the Madhes-centric parties were demanding with agitation.
