Saturday’s first Nepal Premier League match between Lumbini Lions and Chitwan Rhinos was called off without a toss after persistent rain prevented play at the scheduled start time of 12:30pm.
Rain has continued since Thursday night, and the ground remained covered with tarpaulins.
With no reserve days in the tournament schedule, Lumbini and Chitwan received one point each.
Both teams had won their opening matches. Defending champions Lumbini defeated Sudurpaschim Royals by seven wickets, while Chitwan beat Biratnagar Kings by eight runs.
The second match of the day, between Biratnagar Kings and Sudurpaschim Royals, scheduled to begin at 5pm, is also unlikely to go ahead.
The cut-off time for the evening fixture is 7:41pm.
