The government has decided to revoke the suspension imposed on the All Nepal Football Association.
The National Sports Council (NSC), the governing body of Nepali sports, had suspended the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the governing body of Nepali football, for three months on March 25.
“We had a meeting with Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel and NSC officials at the ministry today,” ANFA spokesperson Suresh Shah told the Post. “The minister declared to revoke the suspension on ANFA after a detailed discussion.”
Shah informed that the meeting revolved around ANFA’s concern over international and domestic footballing activities. “Our participation in the SAFF Women’s Championship was at risk due to the chances of a FIFA ban,” Shah added. “Now, there is no fear. ANFA thanks the minister and concerned officials for allowing us to return to normalcy.”
