Raju Rai Erawan, Nepal’s Muay Thai fighter, claimed victory in the Gorkhali Championship Promotion, marking a significant moment in Nepal’s sporting history. Erawan triumphed in the 57kg category against a seasoned Thai fighter, who held an impressive record of 101 fights, with 63 wins and 28 losses.
Entering the ring with 19 fights to his name—17 of which were victories—Erawan displayed remarkable skill and determination. His triumph not only represents his first international win but also a historic milestone for Nepal in the sport of Muay Thai.
Raju Erawan has been committed to sports since 2009, winning three national championships, including the WBC Muay Thai National Champion title, and participating in numerous international bouts. Saturday's victory cements his growing reputation on the global stage. Erawan now runs his training facility, Erawan Muay Thai Fight Gym, located in Bansbari Chakrapath, Kathmandu.
