Karma Tshering Sherpa new Anfa president
Karma Tshering Sherpa defeated his rival Mani Kunwar to be elected as the President of All Nepal Football Association (Anfa) on Saturday.
Karma Tshering Sherpa defeated his rival Mani Kunwar to be elected as the President of All Nepal Football Association (Anfa) on Saturday.
Sherpa secured 63 votes to defeat Kunwar on 12 by a margin of 51 votes.
The 16th General Convention in Lalitpur also elected a new working committee of country’s footballing body. Representatives from 75 districts had taken part in the convention.
Kunwar, however, did not take part in the election process saying the convention was being held against the Anfa statute.
Pankaj Bikram Nembang, Upendra Man Singh, Krishna Bahadur Thapa and Bir Bahadur Khadka, all from Sherpa’s panel, were elected as vice presidents.
Similarly, Dawa Lama, Niroj Khadgi, Purnaman Chitrakar, Rabindra Nath Shrestha, Madhu Sudan Upadhyay, Pradesh Singh Rathaur, Dinesh Byanjankar, Dirgha Bahadur KC, Kiran Rai, Bijay Ghale and Ratna Kumar Shrestha were elected as members.
