Nepal have been drawn in Group ‘A’ of the fourth Saff Women’s Championship football tournament slated for December 26, 2016 to January 4, 2017 in India.
Nepal have been drawn in Group ‘A’ of the fourth Saff Women’s Championship football tournament slated for December 26, 2016 to January 4, 2017 in India.
Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bhutan were drawn alongside Nepal in the four-team Group ‘A’. Group ‘B’ consists of three-time defending champions India, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. All the matches of the tournament will be played at the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri.
Nepal will begin their tournament campaign with a match against tournament minnows Bhutan on the opening day. They next play Maldives on December 28 before wrapping up the league campaign with a clash against Sri Lanka on December 30.
The top two teams after the group stage games will enter the semi-finals, scheduled for January 2. Nepal had appeared in three consecutive finals, losing to India on all three occasions.
