Twin Rana sisters, Mayanka and Mahika, advanced to the girls’ doubles final of the 14th Jaykar Memorial Junior National Open Lawn Tennis Championships on Tuesday.

Rana sisters beat Bibhuti Karki and Bijisha Shrestha 6-2, 6-2 in the first semi-final match. In the quarter-finals of the same event, another twin sisters Catherine and Ani Mathema beat Khushi Pandey and Prerana Koirala 6-3, 6-3 to set the semi-final clash with Avilasha Bista and Ira Raut.
In the boys’ doubles quarter-finals, Renjan Lama and Sakshyam Karki saw off Samyak Bhushan Bajracharya and Aryan Giri 6-1, 6-4, while Adit Subedi and Saharsha Chand dispatched Sohan Khadka and Pramod Budhathoki 7-6, 6-0. Making it to the last four in the girls’ U-14 category were Prerana Koirala, Isha Shred Shah, Ira Raut and Avilasha Bista. Sakshyam, Renjan Lama, Bibek Shrestha and Anthoni Rai completed the boys’ U-18 semi-finals lineup.
Aarav Samrat Hada, Manthan Joshi, Prashidha Basnet, Aki Juben Raut, Rijan Shrestha, Ayusman Ghale, Pranav Manandhar and Aditya Subedi advanced to the U-9 boys’ quarter-finals.
Isha Shree, Shiwangi Laxmi Shah, Mandira Ale and Rayana Shah booked tickets to the Under-10 girls’ singles semi-finals, while Aditya, Saharsha, Chirag Timalsina, Aarav, Rijan Shrestha, Sakshyat Shahi, Aditya Agrawal and Aki Juben made it to the Under-10 boys’ quarter-finals.
