Rayamajhi takes second round lead

Rayamajhi carded one-over 68 on Wednesday for a total of five-over 139. Rayamajhi, who shot four-over 71 in the first round, opened up two-stroke lead over overnight leader Bikash Bogati. Bogati shot five-over 72 for a total card of seven-over 141. Shivaram Poudel returned with five-over 72 to hold third position at 13-over 147. Dinesh Nagarkoti was fourth at 17-over 151. Likewise, Kishan Kaliraj (71) was alone at fifth with the score of 152.
Dal Lama (73), Krishna Murari Sapkota (82), Sanyog Shahi (80), Balaram Chaulagain (84) and Binayak Basnet (83) are in top 10.
Starting the second round with two strokes behind the first round leader Bogati, Maj Rayamajhi carded three-over 36 in the front nine with bogeys on the first, sixth and ninth holes. His back nine score of two-under 32 included birdies on the 10th, 14th and 15th holes against a bogey on the 17th. Bogati played three-over 36 in the first nine holes before shooting two-over 36 in the last nine which included bogeys on the 10th, 13th and 15th holes against a lone birdie on the 12th.
A total of 12 amateur golfers are taking part in the event played under strokeplay format over 54 holes. Five golfers will earn professional cards for this season. The scoring limit has been set for 22-over in 54 holes. Golfers earning the pro card will be eligible to take part in the Surya Nepal Golf Tour.
