APF Club win PM Cup Volleyball
Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club clinched the second Prime Minister Cup Indo-Nepal Women’s Volleyball Championship here on Thursday.Rajendra Nath
The departmental team eased to a 25-17, 25-22, 25-13 win over New Diamond Academy in the final to claim the sixth title of the year. APF have already won NVA Cup, 19th National Tournament, APF IGP Cup, Dhorpatan Cup and International Women’s Championship in Pokhara this season.
APF coach Kapil Kishore Shrestha was satisfied that his side played to their potential. “Our players must have taken unnecessary pressure early on which resulted into them conceding easy points on service. But as the match wore on, they started to show true colours,” said the APF coach.
Saraswoti Chaudhary of APF was adjudged the best player of the tournament while Kamala Pun of Nepal Police Club (NPC) was named the best defender. Kripa Adhikari of New Diamond won the best setter award and her teammate Prativa Mali walked away with best spiker honour.
The champions APF earned Rs 55,000, the runners-up New Diamond took home Rs 35,000 and third-placed Nepal Police Club got Rs 25,000.
