Vehicle movement has resumed on the Kanti Highway after authorities cleared a landslide that blocked the road at Ghattapakha in ward 11 of Bakaiya Rural Municipality, Makawanpur.
The landslide occurred Sunday morning, leaving the section impassable. A police team from the temporary post in Jitpur arrived promptly and, with local assistance and machinery, removed the debris, allowing traffic in both directions to resume, the District Police Office, Makawanpur said.
Work continues at a separate landslide site at Jyamire on the Sisneri–Dakshinkali road, blocked since Saturday evening. Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkar Bogati said a bulldozer is being used to clear the road.
