A newborn was found dead at Manahari Rural Municipality-7, Makawanpur on Tuesday evening. The girl, with her umbilical cord intact, was thrown into the dumping site of the rural municipality.
According to police inspector of the Manahari police station Bishal Sapkota, the authorities have estimated that the child had been born one or two days ago. “We’ve discovered 3 newborn abandoned infants in the past 8 months." Makawanpur district police office reported.
Amongst the three, 2 were rescued alive while 1 was dead.
Further investigation of the incident is underway, police said.
