Police on Monday arrested a man in Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-7 on charge of attempted rape.

The accused, a computer teacher, was taken into police custody for investigation after a ninth-grade student lodged a police complaint on Sunday against him for attempting to rape her.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hom Bahadur Parajuli, the accused allegedly lured the victim to an abandoned house close to his residence under the pretext of handing over a question paper on December 12.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, said Parajuli.
