Two arrested with one kg gold in Rasuwa
The smuggled gold was concealed in a motorcycle, police say.Post Report
Police on Saturday evening arrested two people with one kg of smuggled gold in Rasuwa district.
A team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau arrested them from Betrawati Bridge.
CIB Chief Additional Inspector General Kiran Bajracharya said Dawa Sangmo Tamang from Gatlang and Bishal Tamang from Aamachhodingmo Rural Municipality of Rasuwa district were arrested with the precious yellow metal.
The smuggled gold was concealed in a motorcycle, police said.
Police had recovered 7 kg of smuggled gold from Dolakha a few days ago.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dipak Khadka of the District Police Office, they have so far seized 7 kg of illegal gold that was smuggled in from China and arrested three people on Wednesday and two people on Thursday who were living in Sita Tamang’s house as tenants.
