A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on the charge of allegedly raping a 60-year-old woman.

According to police, the minor was taken into custody after a complaint accusing him of committing the crime on September 9 in Ward 9 of the Umakunda Rural Municipality was registered.

The judicial custody of the accused has been extended and further investigation into the matter is underway, police said.

In a separate incident, a 47-year-old man from the same rural municipality was also arrested on the charge of rape.

The accused was taken into police custody for allegedly raping a 28-year-old on September 21, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Hom Bahadur Parajuli.
