Police on Wednesday arrested four women protesting outside the federal parliament building at New Baneshwar.
While the parliament meeting was ongoing, the women were protesting against former Kapilvastu district court judge Bhuwan Giri, who has been accused of sexual abuse, demanding actions against him.
Giri’s wife, who was among the arrested, has accused her husband of alleged domestic violence and sexual exploitation.
She had filed a complaint at the National Human Rights Commission and National Women Commission after the District Police Office refused to register the complaint.
According to Women Commission member Lily Thapa, the commission had written to the Judicial Council suggesting the latter launch an investigation into the matter.
