Eight killed, over a dozen missing in Ilam landslides
Continuous rainfall triggers multiple landslides, dozens of houses damaged.

Eight people were killed and more than a dozen went missing in Ilam after continuous rainfall triggered landslides in different parts of the district, according to the District Administration Office.
Six people died when the house of Dambar Bahadur Pakhrin at Ghos in ward 6 of Ilam Municipality was buried. Two others went missing, said neighbour Rewaj Tamang.
One person died and another sustained critical injuries at Chhange in ward 1 of Sandakpur Rural Municipality. Five members of a single family went missing at Pyang in ward 6 of Maijogmai Rural Municipality, police said.
In ward 3 of Sandakpur, one person was injured, while a pregnant woman and a man were critically injured in ward 1 of Mangsebung Rural Municipality.
At Ratamate of Aamchok in ward 3 of Phakphokthum Rural Municipality, a landslide buried a house, killing one person.
Chief District Officer Sunita Nepal said several people have gone missing in Mangsebung’s Manebhanjyang, Deumai, and parts of Ilam Municipality. The number of missing has yet to be confirmed, but locals reported at least 15 people are unaccounted for.
Dozens of houses have been damaged by the landslides, officials said.
