Three people have lost their lives after being buried by a landslide in Gorakhani of Solukhumbu district. This brings the total number of landslide-related deaths in the district today to five.

Earlier today, two more fatalities were reported in Solu Dudhkunda Rural Municipality-10, Taptin, where a daughter and daughter-in-law from the same household perished in a separate landslide.

Mayor Namgyal Jyangbu Sherpa confirmed the news and said that post-mortem examinations for all five victims will be conducted at Taptin Hospital.

Given the significant distance and challenging terrain to reach the district headquarters in Salleri, the mayor stated that doctors will be dispatched to Taptin to perform the post-mortems locally, ensuring the process is completed without delay.
