Panchthar
Continuous rainfall has triggered floods, disrupting transportation along the Panchthar–Dhankuta section of the Tamor Corridor and the Panchthar stretch of the Mechi Highway.
According to the District Police Office Panchthar, the Hewa river overflowed the diversion built on the Mechi Highway, blocking the road since Sunday midnight.
Similarly, the Nawa River flood along the Tamor Corridor has made vehicular movement impossible.
Rupesh Tamang, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Panchthar, said motorcycles are using the footbridge over the Nawa river. The Road Division Office in Ilam said the Hewa section would be reopened once the water level recedes and the diversion is repaired.
