One dead in road accident in Dharan

A 45-year-old man was killed in a road accident in the Dharan-7 section of the Koshi Highway on Friday morning.
According to the police, Itahari-9 local Aash Bahadur Rai was critically injured after a truck collided with the scooter he was riding on in Langhali Chowk.
Rai was rushed to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences where he succumbed to his injuries at around 7:30am, police said.
Pillion rider Tek Bahadur Rai, 50, was also injured in the accident. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Dharan-based hospital.
Truck driver Chandra Prasad Rai, 30, has been taken into police custody. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
